About Me

I have been teaching English as a second language in an academic context since 2005. My teaching career began when I was a volunteer in Russia working with young children through language-based activities. I have an M.A.TESOL from Brigham Young University and taught full-time in as an instructor/Testing Coordinator at Purdue University Northwest for eleven years. To afford myself more flexibility and time for family, I recently began teaching part-time at various community colleges and am looking for further growth opportunities.

Expertise: academic writing, assessment (test design and analysis), project-based learning, course development, program review and evaluation.

Favorite Teaching Aspects: STEM-based projects, interactive speaking (debates, panel discussions, poster fairs, interviewing), suprasegmental pronunciation, note-taking, source-integration, identifying tone, style, and bias in reading.
